Breast cancer screening
Changes to breast cancer screening services
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, modifications to
breast cancer screening services are being implemented to reduce the risk of
contamination for the population as well as for health professionals.
All breast cancer screening and follow-up exams are
postponed until further notice.
| health tips |
If you have recently had a screening mammogram as part of
the Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program (PQDCS), you will receive your
result letter as expected.
If you need an additional exam (for example, a mammogram,
ultrasound, or biopsy), your situation will be assessed by a healthcare
professional. The most urgent examinations will be maintained while the other
examinations will be postponed, depending on the situation of each woman. Where
possible, some of these exams could be transferred to a private clinic to
reduce hospital traffic.
If your appointment for an examination is maintained, your
designated screening center will contact you.
For further information, contact the Regional Service
Coordination Center in your region.
